montana yogo sapphire ring

cleopatra collection's montana yogo sapphire ring

Gold was first discovered in Yogo Creek, Montana USA in 1866 and though 'blue pebbles' were found alongside the gold, it was not until 1884 that they were recognized as Yogo sapphires (the term YOGO is the preferred wording for the gems found in the Yogo Gulch, part of the Little Belt Mountains in Judith Basin County of Montana)

this gem is a soft cornflower blue and is sprinkled with tiny shades of clear to dark blue inclusions. this beautiful rock weighs in at 2.9 carats and measures a rough 5-7mm, she's embraced by my 14k (585) dark yellow gold* alchemy band with stunning claws perching her beauty rock xo

she's the sweetest luxury ♥

the MOHS scale of hardness for the yogo sapphire is the same as any sapphire: 9.0 (one down from the diamond)
