being introduced to pearls from an early age in my home town of Montreal, I became enamored by them on my mom and aunts and every classy gal in our community
one day I knew I would have my own, but they simply couldn't be just a rope of pearls. no, not on me. my pearls need edge, depth, pizazz without compromising elegance
introducing the delicate string of pearls in armour
each freshwater pearl is approximately 11mm roundish, and each one is separated but embraced by a spine of silver unique sections, these clever funky square sterling discs are created from scratch, silver smelted and poured and rolled and hammered, then hand formed, repousse and domed to envelope each pearl carefully
they hold a distinctive patina that gives each 'spine' depth yet emphasizes the coolness of each pearl
strung strongly with a reinforced knot between each, leading up to my classic toggle clasp and detailed with french wire to support the wearer's free movements
her final length is 7 1/2"
